Overview And Experience
Ellie Garza brings 15 years of legal experience to the firm. She graduated from Ricks College (BYU- Idaho) and University of Houston. While in college she gained experience as a legal secretary and legal assistant for a mid-sized firm, then worked as a legal assistant for an international law firm in their Admiralty Department. Ellie joined The Law Office of W. Todd Ver Weire in 2018. As a paralegal, she provides support for Mr. Ver Weire’s practice by helping clients with their various questions, reminding them of upcoming court dates and deadlines, and providing a second set of eyes and insight for cases that go to trial. Ellie is currently active with the Paralegal Division of the Williamson County Bar Association.
A sixth-generation Texan from the Houston area, Ellie and her family moved to Georgetown in 1996. While raising children she served as PTA Volunteer Coordinator for two schools and was appointed to represent one of the largest middle schools on the Georgetown ISD PTA District Council. In addition, Ellie volunteered in the children’s auxiliary for her Church for 16 years as a teacher, president of the local unit, and finally as area-president over 14 congregations in the Greater Austin Region.
Ellie has traveled extensively with her husband. His work within IT consulting has taken them to sites throughout the Continental United States, Hawaii, Europe, and Asia. This experience helped her appreciate different cultures, and to see our differences as something to be embraced and enjoyed.
